Old Scale

A score of 1940 on the new SAT corresponds to what score on the old SAT?

I got my scores for the May 2 testing date and received a score of 1230/1940. Is my verbal/math score indicative of how I would have scored on the old test? I've been told that the new score can be converted to the old scale by dividing by 1.5. This methodology gives me a 1290 as opposed to a 1230. Which score should I be using to see if I am qualified for colleges that I'd like to attend?

Just subtract your writing score from the total one you got.

That means add your critical reading and math together, and it will be no higher than 1600 (which is the old score.)

The old SAT didn't have writing. Doing the "dividing" thing will skew the results.
